How Our Trailer Shipping Process Works
STEP-BY-STEP DELIVERY PROCESS
- Purchase & Payment Confirmation: Secure your trailer with a deposit. Our finance or sales team confirms payment method and prepares paperwork.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection: Your trailer undergoes a final inspection and is photographed inside and out before leaving our lot.
- Transport Partner Assignment: We match your trailer with a certified horse trailer transport carrier based on route, trailer size (bumper pull vs. gooseneck), and timeline.
- Real-Time Tracking: You receive carrier contact information and tracking updates throughout the journey.
- Delivery & Walk-Around: The driver delivers to your address. You perform a walk-around inspection before signing the Bill of Lading.
- Title & Registration Transfer: Your title is mailed or transferred electronically within 5–10 business days of delivery.

Buyer’s Responsibility Upon Delivery
When your trailer arrives, please:
- Inspect the exterior for any transit damage before signing the Bill of Lading
- Photograph any damage immediately if found
- Note any damage on the delivery paperwork — do NOT sign a clean Bill of Lading if damage exists
- Contact our team within 24 hours of delivery for any concerns
Damage that is not noted on the Bill of Lading at delivery becomes the responsibility of the buyer. Our team is available 7 days a week during delivery windows to assist with any questions
Return & Refund Policy — Used Horse Trailers
We are committed to your satisfaction. Our return policy for used horse trailers is as follows:
- 7-Day Satisfaction Window: If your used trailer does not match the description in our listing within 7 days of delivery, you may request a return.
- Eligible conditions: Undisclosed structural damage, material misrepresentation of size/features, or mechanical defects not stated in the listing.
- Ineligible conditions: Buyer’s remorse, cosmetic wear consistent with the listed trailer age, or damage caused after delivery.
- Restocking Fee: A 10% restocking fee applies to all approved returns on used trailers.
- Return Shipping: Buyer is responsible for return transport costs unless the return is due to our listing error.
All return requests must be submitted in writing via email to returns@elitehorsetrailer.com within the 7-day window.
Return & Refund Policy — New Horse Trailers
New horse trailer purchases are subject to manufacturer terms and our dealership agreement. Key points:
- New trailers come with a full manufacturer warranty (duration varies by brand — Cimarron, Featherlite, SMC, and Merhow each offer their own warranty programs).
- Once a new trailer is delivered and signed for, it is considered a used trailer for resale purposes.
- Manufacturer defects are handled through warranty claims — we assist with all warranty submissions on your behalf.
Cancellations before delivery: Deposits are refundable within 48 hours of placement. After 48 hours, deposits are non-refundable if the trailer has been prepared for transport.
